Tessa's Story
Urgent foster or forever home needed! Either with no other pets or as a working stock dog.
Tessa is a 4yo Smooth-Coat Border Collie. Tessa is a completely typical female border collie - intense with fairly high drive, but does have an off switch. She can be very controlling and nippy, but needs a job and direction! Tessa would thrive in a lifestyle that complements her two great loves: her people and her tennis balls. Tessa is cratetrained and housebroken. She has been tested on sheep and definitely shows nice potential with true herding drive. Unfortunately, she is too focused on small animals (rabbits, chickens, etc), so best in a home with none of those. She would do best as an only dog, unless she is given a job and worked with (otherwise she creates her own job - herding other dogs). Ideally, she needs a cattle or sheep farm home, with someone who will work with and train her. This incredibly smart girl is a pleaser and active learner, always wanting a new job and willing to try anything for you! While she'd make a great running companion, Tessa actually gets most of her stimulation from using her brain so may excel at some kind of dog-sport as well. Tessa will grab your heart, melt into it and never let you go!
