Walker T.'s Story
Walker is a 10 year old tan & brown German Shepherd that was found stray on the streets of Oakland. Thanks to the efforts of a good Samaritan Walker was brought to the Oakland shelter ending his homeless situation.
The shelter staff evaluated Walker and found him to be very friendly with people and other dogs. He would come to the person evaluating him and was very engaging. He also walked very nicely on a leash... but walked slowly. He has some arthritis in his elbows but is still moderately mobile. It was also noticed that he was skinny... most likely due to irregular meals while he was stray.
His shelter handler also felt that Walker would be a good fit for a quiet home that that might have other dogs or older kids (14+ yo). Walker may also be OK with cats but we are still evaluating this. All those who meet Walker all seem to agree that he is a nice sweet senior German Shepherd.
We are still learning more about Walker T. and will be updating his bio with more details as we learn them.
Walker T. has been accepted into the GSRNC Thulani Program and is headed to a Thulani Foster home where he will receive lots of home comforts as he settles in. The Thulani Program will also see that Walker receives updated vaccinations and other medical care necessary to his well being. In addition, The Thulani Program is starting a search for his next adoptive home that will care for him for the rest of his life. He will also come with a supply of food, a cushy pad if wanted, and other goodies such as toys.
Walker’s medical expenses will be covered for the rest of his life by The Thulani Program!
