Colton's Story
Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Colton is a 2 year old Yorkie mix who was found as a stray with his friend (brother?) Carter and rescued from the shelter where they ended up. These two little guys are both shy at first, but once they warm up, you have a best buddy for life. Colton fell in love with his foster mom and likes to be by her side at all times. He is currently fostered with another dog and does well in the home, although he tends to be more interested in his human than his canine sibling. Colton`s favorite thing is to go on walks! He has great leash manners. As soon as that leash comes out, you can see the excitement in this boy`s big heart-melting eyes. Colton`s foster mom says he is an absolute sweetheart, and with a patient home, he will thrive. She also notes that although he is an option for a condo or apartment, he does love to be outside, so a yard would be ideal.
Colton is an option for a home with or without other dogs and is an option for a home with cats. He is an option for a home with mature children over the age of 10 who are willing to give him his time and space to settle into the new home.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
