Bo's Story
Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, July 30th and Sunday, July 31st from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Bo is a 2 year old Eskie-Pom mix weighing 14.4 lbs who we rescued off the meat trucks of Korea. You would never know this guy came from a rough life, because he is absolutely the sweetest thing you`ve ever met! Bo is the life of the party. He has never met a stranger yet.
Here are the notes from Bo`s foster mom:
`Bo is incredibly friendly. He isn`t shy at all and it seems like he falls in love easily. My husband has been taking care of him when I was out of town and he follows my husband everywhere in and out of the house. When he saw me for the first time, he crawled right into my lap and he gave me the same amount of affection that I got from my own dogs and I had 3 dogs crazily licking me all over. No one could tell that that was the first time I`m seeing Bo in my life.
Bo plays ALL DAY with my dog, they play tug, they wrestle and they chase each other around the house tirelessly. My dog can be very alpha and doesn`t always get along with other dogs, Bo has zero issues with him. That`s truly a testament of how friendly and sociable Bo is. Personally I think that if he`s able to get along so well with my dog, he can probably get along with every dog in the universe. He will play by himself with dog toys if the other dogs don`t want to play with him too. He`s also quite treat motivated and will sit for treats.
Bo sleeps in a crate at night and doesn`t have any trouble with that. He doesn`t like going in the crate, but he settles down pretty quickly when he is inside. He walks quite well on a leash, but he seems to tire easily. He will sit or lie down in the middle of the walk.`
Bo is still in a bit of a puppy phase and prone to chewing, so the right home will have a good training plan in place!
Bo is an option for a home with or without other dogs and/or cats. He is an option for a home with children over the age of 7.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
