Cagney D3106's Story
Cagney (watch my video!) and her sister Lacey were rescued from an Alameda County shelter. Cagney is the big sister and more outgoing;protective than Lacey. She was scared at the shelter but once out of her cage she was friendly with us. No cats please. Cagney was neglected severely matted dirty and under-socialized. She looks very cute now that she is healthier and groomed! She is fearful & of strangers and may guard person to men (maybe due to abuse from before). She may nip if she is fearful. She is an amazing indoor dog. She is happy to relax at the foot of the sofa and watch what goes on outside for most of the day. She loves her walks (45 min). She needs to be on the lead when new men come over because she will try to guard me. But after 10 minutes or so she starts to wag her tail and seek attention from the new people but with caution. She is great with women but very leary of men. She is dominate to small dogs and need proper introductions. Seems relaxed to meet larger dogs but will try to dominate. When left alone she will bark for a few minutes but then relaxes. She is crate trained and listens to person she bonds to. She loves her daily walks. She is best with women and quiet experienced adult home (less visitors) only. No kids please. Needs continued training & kind but confident and leader.
