Huey's Story
This sweet boy is Huey. Huey was picked up by a Arkansas sheriff deputy on July 4th. Huey walked right out in front of the officer and sat down in the middle of the road like he has just given up on life. Luckily, the officer is an animal lover so he picked him up and one thing led to another and now Huey is in my rescuer with a wonderful foster momma. At first we thought he was only about 10-11 weeks old as he only weighed about 12 pounds and was very small in height but then we checked his teeth and he is about 5 to 6 months old. He has been severely starved it would appear as he is really growing now. He is up to 16 pounds! Huey also had a bad case of Rickets when we got him but that has just about resolved itself with a good diet, cod liver oil and lots of sunshine. Huey has now been neutered, received his rabies vaccine and puppy vaccines, wormed and started on flea/tick control and heartworm prevention. Huey would make a great addition to any family situation. He is sweet and just wants to be loved as much as possible. We do not know how big he will get but he should get up to around 30 pounds but he may stay a bit smaller- really no way to know. Huey is located in Arkansas. When we list our rescues on Adoptapet.com they send out the info to all areas that our transport delivers to. His adoption fee is $250 and the transport fee is $140 so a total of $390. For more info on Huey and an application- please email Sandy at [email protected] and thank you for considering one of my rescue doggies!!
