ERNIE (Courtesy Post)'s Story
COURTESY POSTING: For all inquiries regarding availability, temperament, location or to set up a meet and greet, PLEASE CONTACT: Mikka [email protected]
Ernie was found on July 17, 2015 wandering the streets of Los Angeles. He was tired and thirsty but gentle and sweet. Wrapped around his neck was a chain and 3 padlocks weighing approximately 9 lbs. Ernie was taken to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter where his recovery began. On July 31, 2015 Ernie was sponsored by Hope For Paws and had a successful surgery which removed a salivary gland cyst which was causing him pain and discomfort. (Due to the heavy chain that he had been forced to carry around.)
Ernie is a beautiful, smart and high spirited dog who is very people friendly. He is a little distracted/excited by other dogs but has been in leash and obedience training which is going very well. As you can see from the video he is dog friendly! He is not cat friendly, as in he likes them too much. Ernie has not been tested with young children at this time, but on walks he doesn`t pay attention to them.
We are strictly looking for a home in the Los Angeles area so that we can help introduce and integrate Ernie with his new home and family. He is a professional snuggler that just wants to be near his humans, a really good boy!
Ernie is a 2-3 yr. old neutered male American Staffordshire terrier. He weighs 60 lbs. He is healthy, current on all vaccines and neutered.
