I brought Sasha home with me from East Valley Shelter last week as they were overcrowded and I felt I had to help in some way. Sasha was owner surrendered, she’s 10 years old and a pit-bull mix, although the more I look at her the more I see Labrador in her. She`s very timid and sweet and just wants to be around her people. She follows me from room to room and sleeps for most of the day.
She has arthritis in her hind legs so some days she doesn`t feel like walking. She walks fine on a leash, but I do find she needs some encouragement when walking by houses with dogs. She has to be the only pet in the home, as told to me by the shelter and by how scared she looks when she hears barking when we walk I would second that. She has some energy about 2 hours a day. She’s just a big lap dog really!
Sasha is completely housebroken and has had no accidents since coming home. She`s a healthy weight and has no problem at all with eating. I’ve found that it’s best to put her outside or in her crate when myself and others in the house are eating as she doesn’t quite get the boundaries there.
She just wants to be in your company wherever you are, she`s never once barked but sometimes whimpers a little when I leave. I’m not sure how Sasha is with kids but judging by how much she loves to be around all people she’s met since being with us I would imagine it would be the same. She’s a sweet older girl and would be the perfect companion for someone. She`s no work at all and if I could keep her I would, I can`t bear the thought of her having to go back to shelter life, she was so frightened there I knew I had to bring her home. I just hope now we can find her a forever home!
How could you not love that face?!
