Bing Pawsby's Story
After a hard life on the streets of Bakersfield, little Rupert (16 lbs) must be wondering if he’s been dreaming since arriving in L.A. Who knew that he could have love, regular meals, medical care, a warm, safe foster home with loads of comfy beds, and pals of his own.
This little lad’s emotional scars run deep but he is very playful and affectionate with his foster parents and siblings, and excellent with the cats in the household. He is comfortable being on a leash and harness and enjoys going for walks with the other dogs but finds solo walks challenging. Rupert enjoys being brushed, getting massages, eating, tummy rubs, cuddles, rides in the car and (did we mention) eating. His high food motivation makes him quite easy to train. Rupert is 2 (maybe 3) years old and gets along very well with other dogs. He has really come out of his shell with folks he knows but is still generally shy with new people. He enjoys playing with toys and is a happy, bouncy little boy. Since Rupert gains confidence from other dogs, he needs to go to a home where he has a canine brother or sister to look up to. He finds loud noises and erratic movements overwhelming so does not do well with children. He would do best in an adult family that will be patient with him and help him to overcome his sad past.
Rupert is adorable and unusual looking, most frequently compared to a little bear. His fosters could not contain their curiosity so they had him DNA tested. He is Parson Russell Terrier with Chihuahua, Miniature Poodle, Pekingese, Yorkshire Terrier and unidentified mixed breed. How about that?
