Maximus is a stunning, large boy who has had training and knows his basic commands. He's a quick study, as he loves to please the people he trusts and loves his treats. He also loves his walks (who doesn't?), his ball (which can often be seen in his mouth, no matter what he's doing), and car rides, loving to stick his head out of the window to smell the world and feel the wind in his hair. Although we haven't had Maximus in the yard with others, he has met many large dogs, while on leash, and had no problems with them; he usually acts as if they weren't there and shows little interest. We don't know how Maximus was treated before rescue, but he doesn't trust strangers. Once he knows you, he's amazing, but it will take a few meetings to establish you as a friend. If you're a strong handler with GSD experience and are looking for a gorgeous and loyal addition to your family, you've met your match!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
