Harley is a great senior dog who loves everyone, including kids! She can take an extra second to get up, but, once she gets going, you can't even tell she's a senior. During Harley's stay with us we have learned quite a bit about her. While on a walk, just about a week after rescuing her, someone recognized her (someone who knew the former owner who surrendered her to the shelter) and it turns out she was a surf shop's resident dog. She has a floppy ear because she cut it on a piece of sheet metal a long time ago and some of her teeth were ground down from chewing on the chain linked fence when the guys would ride by on their skateboards, because they would beat them against the fence to antagonize her (so, no, she does not like skateboards) and she does bark when she hears them.Harley hadn't had the best life before her rescue, but her foster family now makes sure every day is fantastic for this beautiful girl until she finds her forever home!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
