Maxwell's Story
Maxwell is fostered Canyon Country CA 91387, through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org. To find out more about Maxwell contact his foster mamma through the question/inquiry link.Maxwell is a 10 yr old, 5 lb. Yorkie boy who came to United Yorkie in May 2016. Maxwell was an owner surrender to a shelter, after he got hurt. It`s unknown how he was hurt but as it turned out he had a fracture pelvis and ended up having surgery, a Femoral Head Osteotomy, on the right hind leg. The surgeon didn`t want to touch the pelvic fractures since they had begun healing nicely on their own. There was a small chance he`d need the same procedure on the other side in the future due to healing, however since his surgery, he`s been doing well and surgery has not been discussed. He`s slowly been gaining strength and mobility and is going on longer walks, getting better through lots of love and help from his fur siblings. Feeling better, he`s acting more at home and has turned into a little snuggle buddy. He loves to lie on the couch next to his foster mamma. He`s learned to love treats of watermelon, banana, and home cooked chicken with sweet potatoes, carrots, and green beans are, he loves it all! Maxwell spins around in small circles when he gets exited and is a joy. He plays for hours with his foster fur siblings and loves it. Maxwell would benefit from having another dog in the home for companionship. Due to his size and injuries, no small children in the home. This little guy has been through a lot and is deserving of a quiet relaxing home where he`ll be pampered and loved and treated like the special little guy he is.
