IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Cranberry, 3 years old, spayed female, Shepherd blend, 30 pounds. She is located in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of State to an approved adopter. Cranberry's current foster home does not have any pets. She has spent time in another foster home for a little bit and was around other dogs. She felt most comfortable with the dogs closer to her size. The larger dogs made her a little nervous. She does best with dogs who are calmer and not interested in engaging in play. She seems to prefer human company more than interacting with four legged friends. We think she would do best with another calmer dog similar in size or smaller or would do great as the only pet. We have no history with cats. She does not reside in a home with kids, but has met kids as young as 7 years old. Cranberry can be timid, but warms up quickly. She let both children pet her. However, when Cranberry is scared, she barks. We recommend a home with kids 12 years and older who understand and respect animal boundaries. Cranberry gets excited to go on walks and is easy to leash. She sometimes pulls and tries to run in a circle. She is working on heel and overall leash manners. She is fully housebroken and does fine when crated with someone home. When someone is not home, she has found a way out of the crate on one occasion. Cranberry has moderate energy needs. She will need either a daily walk or to run around in the yard. She is always up for a good cuddle on the couch too. She really loves going on walks, being outside, playing with squeaky toys, blankets, and cuddles. She likes to play with toys while lying on her back. She likes meeting new people and receiving affection. Cranberry can be vocal. She will express her satisfaction or dissatisfaction. She doesn't necessarily bark a lot though - mostly when she is scared. It has taken her some time to warm up to the adult male in the home. She will initially bark and then stops fairly quickly once he asks her for some affection. She loves going on walks with him. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
