Darby's Story
HELLO! I am DARBY and I am SO EXCITED TO MEET YOU! I am 10 weeks old and full of love and mischief! I love to play! I like chasing balls, chewing nylabones, shaking stuffies, and anything else I find that looks like fun! I'm a very sweet boy who loves cuddles. I like to sleep curled up at my foster mom's shoulder. I love food and will do anything for a treat. I'm a very smart boy and I hope you have lots to teach me! Apply to adopt me today!!! Darby was born with a birth defect that affects his genitals. He is able to urinate on his own and currently, no treatment is necessary. Interested families should be aware that in the future he may need a corrective surgery. He may need visits to a specialist vet if his condition changes. His neuter surgery will be more in depth than a normal neuter and may cost more than average. Darby is feisty and spunky, and loves to be the center of attention. He is just a baby though, and has all the normal puppy behaviors. Darby's family should expect to keep working on house training him, curb puppy nipping, and teach him all the basic manners that go with being a good boy. He would greatly enjoy puppy classes. He loves to learn! He is currently only 5lbs. Darby is good with other dogs who are patient to tolerate his puppy silliness. He has been around cats, and will need to keep working on his manners around them. Darby is a love bug who likes to be held. He gives lots of kisses! He is a very special little guy who needs a special family! If he sounds perfect to you, please complete an adoption application today! www.zoeshouserescue.com Darby is currently fostered in southern Lancaster county, and adoptive families must be willing to travel to his foster home to meet him, and bring along any existing dogs. Darby is up to date on puppy shots and has been treated with flea and worm preventatives. Adoptive families should be prepared to continue Darby's puppy shots and rabies vaccine. They should also be prepared to sign a neuter contract with a $250.00 deposit that is returned when proof of neuter is shown.
