Raven's Story
Raven is a silly, sweet 8 week old terrier mix who weighs 13 pounds. She is estimated to be around 78 pounds once she is full grown. This little butterball of sweetness is full of personality and always makes her foster mom laugh with her silly puppy antics. She is a total sweetheart that is very affectionate and cuddly. She is the quieter sister in their litter, but is still a super fun and playful girl when she's not snuggled up on her foster mom's lap getting belly rubs. She loves to play fetch with her toys, and gets so excited to run after them that she will forget to brace herself when she catches up with the toy that she rolls past it and slides across the floor. She gets such a kick out of it that she has turned it into a game that she loves to play with her foster mom. Raven is low to medium energy, so she is pretty laid back but loves to partake in fun adventures. She is very curious and observant of her surroundings, and isn't afraid to explore new things. She loves to play with her toys and chew on Nylabones when her foster mom is busy, and does a good job at entertaining herself when the other dogs are napping. She would thrive with daily playtime in the yard or adventures/outings with her family. Her ideal family would be fun and adventurous, and enjoys the outdoors. She would be a great pup for someone who enjoys hiking or going on walks on nature trails. Raven is dog, cat and kid friendly. She loves everyone she meets, and would love to have some human kids in her forever home to cuddle and play with. Her silly, sweet nature makes her perfect for kids of any age. She loves to play with her siblings and the resident dogs in her foster home, and gets along with dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities. She enjoys following the older dogs around to see what they're up to and is learning so much from them every day. She also has some kitties in her foster home and loves to play with the dog-friendly one. She is very treat motivated and very attentive, so she is quick with picking up on new commands. Raven is kennel and playpen trained, and has done well with transitioning outside for potty training. She knows how to use a potty pad, but will need additional help perfecting her outside potty training skills in her forever home. She just started her leash training and will need more practice as she continues to grow. Her ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard that she can run around and play in. She would not do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo unless there is a private backyard for her to use. If you are interested in adopting Raven, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application. Raven is in a foster home in South Texas and will be transported once adopted. She will have a $200 refundable spay deposit added onto her adoption and transport fees because she is too young to be spayed. She cannot be adopted into Canada at this time because of her age. TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back. Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The total cost to adopt is $830, which includes a $300 adoption fee, a $230 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
