Tweety's Story
*Please note: If you are interested in learning more about Tweety from her foster family, we do need an adoption application. It can be found on our website www.poodleandpoochrescue.org *Tweety will require multiple meet-and-greets with her potential adopters. Please make sure you are willing & able to travel to the Orlando area for these meets* Meet Tweety! This one-year-old Wheaten Terrier blend weighs 41 lbs. Tweety is a wonderful, loving fun dog who is looking for an equally wonderful family. General Behavior: Tweety can be very scared when she first meets someone and will bark at someone new. It will take time for her to feel comfortable, but she is worth it. Once she gets to know you and feels secure, she will give you many hugs, cuddles, and snuggles. She loves everyone in her foster family and spreads the love around. Likes & Dislikes: Tweety loves to play outside: she particularly enjoys playing fetch. After a busy day of playing, she sleeps in the people bed at night and loves hugs and snuggles before she goes to sleep. She is a wonderful pup. Training: Tweety is a good girl with excellent basic manners. She is housetrained if let out regularly. She does not pull when walking on a leash although she does get scared of new situations. She just needs a bit more practice with car rides: she is good in the car ride but just nervous about where she is being taken. Medical: Tweety is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Other Animals: Tweety loves to play with other dogs. She needs to have another dog to play with in her forever home. She has not been observed around cats yet, but unlike her cartoon namesake, we think Tweety would be OK with a putty tat. Children: Tweety is a sweetie who is good with children of all ages. Home: Tweety needs a single-family home with a securely fenced yard and someone who is around more often than not. She needs a fenced yard because she loves to run and play and feel secure, but she can be easily scared by a sudden noise or a loud car. Grooming: As a Wheaten Terrier with a gorgeous coat, Tweety will need regular brushing plus professional grooming at least every three months. Overall: Tweety would be great addition to a family who is looking for a pal for their dog or dogs and who can give her the love, patience, and security she needs.
