Ken's Story
Ken's mom, Midge, was irresponsibly bred and then brought to the vet to be euthanized after experiencing complications during labor. With one puppy stuck in her birth canal, one deceased, and four others still in the womb, the lives of this entire family was in jeopardy. Thankfully the emergency vet treating Midge was unwilling to let this sweet family go that easily. Knowing the situation was urgent, they contacted ALDR who immediately agreed to assume responsibility for their care. After a successful c section and weeks of foster care, Ken is officially ready to find his forever family. Ken is the biggest in size and personality. His gorgeous coloring and chunky stature just add to his charm. Ken has never met a stranger and loves everyone he meets. His foster mom has three big dogs (cats too) that he loves to play with. He would prefer a home with an active family that would include him in everything they do. This pup LOVES attention and constant companionship so another young pup would be even better! All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need.
