Bentley's Story
Bentley is a fun, spunky 8 week old lab mix that weighs 10 lbs. He is estimated to be around 55-60 lbs when he is full grown. He is the life of the party and always lights up the room with his contagious happiness. He is super affectionate and loves to snuggle with his foster mom and dad every chance he gets, and will crawl into their lap to shower them with sweet puppy kisses. He is also courageous and curious little pup, and he is always ready for an adventure. He is always the first one in his litter to investigate a new area, meet a new doggy friend, or take on all that the outside world has to show him. His outgoing personality makes him a magnet to new people and dog friends everywhere he goes. He would be the perfect companion for a family that loves exploring nature, going on hikes, and venturing outdoors to new places. Bentley is medium energy, so he will require multiple exercise sessions and mental stimulation activities per day as he grows. They can be short or long activities as long as he gets to be physically active or engage in mental stimulation activities before winding down to relax on the couch with his human for cuddle time. He is a big fan of sniffing activities outdoors, playing tug-o-war, and running around the backyard with his doggy friends. He loves to find a sunny spot to sprawl out for some sunbathing time while he naps after his playtime. As he gets older, he would be a great pup to take on hikes or walks on nature trails, and would love to have a fun, adventurous family to grow up with. Bentley is dog, cat and kid friendly. He does well with dogs of all ages and sizes, and is currently in a foster home with dogs ranging in age from puppy to senior. He is very outgoing and playful, and would benefit from having an older dog in his forever home to continue learning from as he grows. Although he loves other dogs, he is perfectly fine being a solo dog in the home as long as he gets plenty of time with his human and gets to have puppy play dates to continue his socialization skills as he gets older. He also has foster kitties in his foster home and respects their boundaries when they communicate they don't want to deal with his puppy antics. His playful, loyal, and caring temperament makes him the perfect pup to join a family with kids of all ages. He would love to have some human kids in his forever home to play and cuddle with. Bentley is currently working on mastering his potty training skills and currently uses a potty pad in his foster home, but he has started transitioning outside for potty time. He would do best in a home where he has a consistent schedule to perfect his potty training. He currently sleeps in a kennel and puppy playpen setup at night, but he would love to sleep with his human once he gets older. He will need help perfecting his leash training once he is in his forever home. His ideal home environment would be a house with a fenced in backyard that he can run around and play in. He would do well in an apartment, townhouse or condo as long as he has a human home majority of the day to continue working on his potty training and leash training, and can take him out for some playtime and exercise sessions a few times each day. Bentley will have a $200 refundable neuter deposit added onto his adoption and transport fees because he is too young to be neutered at this time. He cannot be adopted into Canada at this time because of his age. If you are interested in adopting Bentley, please fill out an application at: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application. Bentley is in a foster home in Central Texas and will be transported once adopted. TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back. Please be advised that applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The total cost to adopt is $830, which includes a $400 adoption fee, a $230 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE neuter deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormer, and health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
