Mulan's Story
Mulan, Aurora and Belle are 3 of the tiniest, sweetest, cuddliest babies ever. Born February 18th, these babies did not have an easy start. They were born on the streets, and at only 4 days old, their mom was out looking for food, and was hit by a car. Thanks to a good Samaritan, they noticed she was nursing and looked around for puppies, and found these beautiful babies laying on rocks, waiting for their mom to come back. The Samaritan reached out to us and our volunteer immediately took them in and started nursing them. They latched onto the bottle fast, and these chunky monkeys thrived in foster care being bottle fed. As of 4/28, these puppies weigh only about 4 lbs. We believe they are dachshund/chihuahua possibly some cocker spaniel mixes and based on how slow they're growing, we don't see them getting over 13-15 lbs max. They have been raised around cats and other dogs, and get along with both. These puppies are quite tiny and can easily be mishandled, please ensure all children in the home are well behaved and able to handle such small puppies. No toddlers, please. Belle, Aurora and Mulan are super playful and so much fun to be around. They're spunky and just love everyone they meet. Their tiny legs only go so fast but they make sure to use them! While they love to play, they also love to just relax and hang out with their humans. These 3 girls will make wonderful small doggies for the perfect families. All adoption fees include current negative hw test if old enough, current age appropriate vaccines including rabies, parvo/distemper, bordatella, current heart worm and flea/tick preventions, lifetime registered microchip, 2 dewormers and transport costs from Texas to the East Coast. PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: Fill out an application to adopt: Www.ruraltank.org/adopt We process applications as first come, first serve so we suggest you fill out an application as soon as possible as we can receive quite a few per animal. ALMOST ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE LOCATED IN SOUTH TEXAS. They are posted in areas where we transport to or around to, once an adoption is finalized. 95% of our animals are pre adopted prior to transport, if you want to do a meet and greet with an animal in person we suggest going to a local shelter as we probably will not be able to offer that. We do have a few animals located in foster homes up north that are available to meet first, you are welcome to email us to inquire which ones. Once approved though us, we will put you in contact with the foster family that has your animal to learn more about them! There are transports that leave every 1-2 weeks. Application turn around is usually about 1-3 days max, if not sooner. After you submit an application and want to send additional information or pictures of current animals/past ones in a separate email, we love that and it always helps your chances.
