ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13680 Name: Honor Estimated DOB: 05/04/2024 Current Weight: 8 lbs Breed: Basset Hound / English Cocker Spaniel Mix Estimated Adult Weight: 61-75 lbs (approx.) About Honor: Honor is the standout pup from our Independence Pups litter, not only because hes the biggest, currently weighing in at 8 pounds, but also because of his striking black and white coloring, just like his mom. With his long legs and charming looks, this Basset Hound and English Cocker Spaniel mix is sure to make an impression. He is expected to grow into a large, handsome adult, weighing between 61 and 75 pounds. Personality: Honor is a lively and confident puppy. He enjoys exploring his surroundings and playing with his littermates. His outgoing and friendly nature makes him a joy to be around. Hes curious and loves to engage with both people and other dogs, making him a sociable little guy. Training: Honor is at the perfect age to begin his training journey. Hes intelligent and eager to please, making him a great candidate for learning basic commands and house training. With consistent positive reinforcement and a bit of patience, Honor will quickly pick up on new skills and behaviors, maturing into a well-mannered and loyal companion. Ideal Home: Honor would thrive in a home where he can receive plenty of love, attention, and exercise. He would be a great fit for families, singles, or couples who can dedicate time to his training and playtime. A home with a yard or access to outdoor spaces would be ideal for his energetic and playful nature. Health: Honor is a healthy young pup and will come microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations and deworming. Regular vet check-ups and a balanced diet will help him grow into a robust and healthy adult. Please note that Honor is so young, he has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, he MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppys medical safety and longevity. If youre looking for a loving, energetic, and striking new family member, Honor might be the perfect addition to your home. Apply today and see if hes the furry friend youve been searching for! Please keep in mind that Honor is searching for - Someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until I am older. The older I am, the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quickly and when I'm bored I could get in trouble. - I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun! - I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
