Princeton's Story
This sweet boy Princeton is waiting to come into our rescue. He is currently at a shelter and needs a foster. Princeton is an eight year, male, black/white shih tzu who weighs 16lbs. Upon intake and neuter surgery, it was discovered that Princeton has an intestinal condition. His intestines are pushed up too high in his chest. The shelter provided the x-rays while Princeton was under anesthesia during neuter surgery and dental. The shelter took care of those procedures for us. We sent all the x-rays to our veterinarian who said surgery would probably not be an option and if so, would require a specialist. Both veterinarians provided similar remarks. This condition has probably existed for a very long time, is not painful, and the dog has gotten along fine. Princeton does have dry eye and will require artificial tears daily. Per the shelter rescue coordinator, Princeton is the, “bright light in the room”. The staff said Princeton is not only adorable, but is friendly, social, loves attention and is the sweetest boy. He certainly is deserving of a loving home. If this condition has been in existence for a long time, Princeton could possibly live for years without complication. We obviously want to be transparent and communicate the shelter did indeed deem Princeton as unadoptable “as is”. His only chance is going to rescue. We want to help this boy, so we are calling upon our shih tzu lover friends and family to help Princeton get a foster home. They said he is an easy dog to love. Would greatly appreciate your help.
