Mia's Story
AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY. Meet Mia, a precious Maltese mix girl! At just five years old, 8ish pounds, she is a spry, cute, fun little companion! Mia arrived in rescue when her previous family could no longer care for her. She was understandably confused at first, but she has settled into foster care nicely. Her foster mom says: Mia is friendly, perfectly comfortable with new people, and gets on with other dogs her size (not sure about big dogs, but based on her easy temperament we guess she'd probably be fine). The dogs in her current foster home do not engage in play, so we've not seen her terribly interested- but she gets on well with them and shares all the sofa and bed space just fine. And bed space- she LOVES sleeping in the big bed with you, at night! She can make her spot at the foot of the bed, but if you pull her to your side for cuddling- she is OK with that too! She's also potty trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She, however, does NOT like cats! She won't chase or torment them, but she's got 3 in her foster home and if they approach or walk by- she growls, and lunges a bit! But never goes further so yes, she *can* live with them, but won't be their companion, that's for sure. Kinda the same with dogs, from what we gather; she'll curl up/be near the dogs, but is more interested in just being with her person. Overall, Mia is a very sweet, well behaved and yet independent little dog who is very easy going, and easy to live with and LOVE! Since she is a Maltese mix, she will need routine, professional grooming every six or so weeks, and in between- will likely need daily brushing. Mia is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had her teeth cleaned! Mia is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $325. If you are interested in applying to adopt Mia, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
