Portia's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics. Portia is approximately 6 months old, 20 lbs and loves people! She’s incredibly sweet & wants to meet everyone she sees. She’s a medium energy dog, who can play with the best of them but then wants to take a nice nap. Portia sleeps overnight in a crate very well, and made it through 2 workdays in a crate with a drop in from a dog walker. She walks pretty well on a leash. She’s working on potty training, and is really good about doing it on leash on walks, so with a little dedication she should get there in no time! Portia is going to need a family who wants to train her, as she has a bit of a stealing problem. If she can reach it, she’s taking it. She’s still got that puppy destructive gene, and needs to be crated when a person isn’t around. Portia is a real sweetheart who is looking for a great family to call her own! We are presently not holding our regular Saturday adoption clinics due to the Covid-19 virus. We are operating on a limited basis until further notice, but we are still adopting dogs out. We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
