Rex's Story
Rex is a four year old purebred male minipoodle who was released to our rescue after spending his life producing puppies at a commercial establishment. Despite his limited existence before coming to us, Rex loves being held and cuddled by all people. He can be a bit shy when he first meets a new person, but then quickly asks to be picked up and held. He does not exhibit marking behaviors and is clean in his space unless asked to hold it too long. He is now learning how to walk on a leash and loves the freedom of a big outside space (fenced) to race around at top speed and check out the universe. He is extremely quick and can dart under legs at high speed and definitely not a "couch potato" Rex is fine with other dogs who are gentle and polite but because he is so small, he would not be an appropriate pal to a larger dog unless the dog was extremely gentle. Cats are an unknown. Rex will be neutered and have a full dental done on October 16 and will be available approximately one week after his surgeries. Rex's new home will need to have a fenced in area where he can safely do his "zoomies" and also someone home frequently to ensure that his housetraining continues. Ages of children, if present, must be 6 years or older. Rex's adoption fee is $500 and includes all medical needs - his neutering, dental, vaccinations, worming, heartworm testing, and preventative, microchipping and tick/flea treatment.
